A Beautiful Day
Philanthropic beauty and fashion companies support SWCRF during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
October 25 was an unofficial Beauty and Fashion Day in support of the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation thanks to several fun and stylish fundraisers that took place in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The Third Annual Blow Out Breast Cancer benefit launched by radio station 95.5PLJ in partnership with the Angelo David Salon in midtown Manhattan expanded to welcome the creative team at Gumdrop Hairdressing in Montclair, NJ, for a marathon day of $25 blowouts at both locations to benefit SWCRF breast cancer research.
Angelo David Pisacreta, founder of the Angelo David Salon, welcomed Marion Waxman, actress Carrie Preston of the hit TNT series Claws, Aviva Drescher, Courtenay and Daniel Hall of BELLA Magazine, and 95.5 PLJ personalities Annie Leamy, Joe “Monk” Pardavila, John Mingione, and Ralphie Aversa, among other notables.

Later in the evening, the Alice + Olivia by Stacey Bendet store on Madison Avenue hosted a day of shopping titled “For the Women We Love” to invite mothers and daughters, their relatives and friends to shop together to raise funds for SWCRF breast cancer research.
The event, part of the SWCRF annual Pay It Forward cause marketing program supported by fashion companies, included morning and evening Shop for the Cure events from which 20 percent of proceeds from sales were donated to the SWCRF.
Alice + Olivia’s Jason Mabel and his team welcomed customers and SWCRF supporters to the store, treating guests to a tasty spread of hors d'oeuvres, adorable -- and delicious -- macaroons decorated with the Alice + Olivia logo and Prosseco. The chic event featured beautiful fashions from the collection by designer Stacey Bendet shown on glamorous models.
