The Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation’s young professionals group the Millennial Society held a festive after-work gathering at Hudson Terrace on March 12 to raise funds for SWCRF’s research programs.  Rescheduled from its original March 5 date due to an unexpected late-winter snowstorm, the affair had a warm and upbeat spirit thanks to much nicer weather.

The event marked the second gathering organized by the new Millennials committee, which includes Amanda Aronson, Zachary Aronson, Bradley Fishel, Melissa Fishel, Ali Nierenberg, Sarah Nierenberg, Katie Samuels, Lauren Schumacher, Ally Shapiro, Melanie Twomey, Joanna Wexler and Christine Wiegand.

About 100 attendees enjoyed a complimentary vodka bar and supported the SWCRF’s fundraising for cancer research by buying tickets for exciting raffle prizes secured by the committee members. Raffle items included starter jackets from the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks, Molami pleat headphones, watches by Kenneth Cole, Paula Bianco scarves and fragrances from Hayari Parfums. Tables were adorned with a Millennial Society fact sheet listing the Waxman Foundation’s social media handles, SWCRF advocacy bracelets and Millennial Society pens.

The Millennial Society is a group of young professionals dedicated to raising awareness and funds for cancer research supported by the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation. The group’s members include professionals from finance, real estate, marketing, special events and healthcare, among many other industries.

The Waxman Foundation extends its thanks to the guests, raffle prize donors and committee members who made this event happen. Stay tuned for news of future Millennial Society gatherings to come to support cancer research!
