A crowd of New York City's young professionals turned out on Friday, April 8, 2011, to support the Millennial Society of the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation. The event, held at the chic and swanky IAC building at 555 West 18th Street, raised $92,000 to benefit the Society's goal to sponsor a multi-year grant to support a research grant in young adult cancers.
Former Marine Sarah Leming, a young adult cancer survivor, shared her personal story before a crowd of her peers to talk about the cancer diagnosis that turned her world upside down and her journey of survivorship.
