Sebastiaan den Bak is 27 years old and works in Brussels for the Netherlands house for Education and Research (Neth-ER). His daily business is representing and lobbying for Dutch knowledge institutions in Brussels, trying to influence European Education and Research policies. Sebastiaan started running in 2006 and became m
ore and more enthusiastic about it after every mile completed. He completed his first 42.195 meters in 2009 during the 40th New York City Marathon. This year he is destined to complete his second marathon. Sebastiaan decided to run for the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation in support of family who have been lost to or affected by cancer. Together with Marc Smits—his running mate since 2009—he is aiming at a finish time of 3:29:59h.
