Benefiting the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation

Spotlights Nicole Miller

The Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation will launch “Ladies Who Lunch for A Cure” on May 6, 2014 at a private East Side landmark residence owned by Dena K. Weiner and David Rozenholc.  The event will honor Nicole Miller who will showcase her Spring/Summer 2014 collection before a private audience, and benefit the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation.

Nicole Miller states, “I am honored to have been asked to launch this event that supports the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation.   It is through research that an end to this dreaded disease will be realized. I am delighted to support such a worthy cause.”

Nicole Miller’s “Versailles” period inspired the Spring/Summer collection. “This beautiful home could not be more picture-perfect to present my fashions. It seamlessly sets the   stage for my collection with its winding staircases, marble floors, grand chandeliers and elegant period furniture,” she notes.

The luncheon is the first event of its kind to raise funds for the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation. “We are honored that Nicole Miller accepted our invitation to be the first celebrated fashion designer to launch the event.  Not only will her support draw attention to our cause, it will raise the much needed funding to our cancer research programs,” states Dr. Samuel Waxman, Founder and CEO of the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation

“Support for charities and foundations has been dramatically cut by the Federal Government.  Therefore it has been left to philanthropic organizations to find private resources and creative ways to sustain the work of their institutions,” points out Dr. Waxman.  “We anticipate ‘Ladies Who Lunch for a Cure’ will be one of many such events in the coming years to augment the funding efforts,” he adds.

A raffle featuring items such as dinner at Aretzky’s Patroon, Arlotta Cashmere robe and slippers, Botkier Handbag, Brooks Brothers leather attaché, Dolce & Gabbana clutch from Collette, Award winning wines from Palm Bay, and unique necklace from Marlene Brown Fine Jewelry lend additional excitement to the event.  The event’s contemporary luncheon is catered by CxRA, formerly known as Catering by  Restaurant Associates.
