29th Annual Golf Tournament Raises More Than $130,000
NEW YORK—More than 60 golfers came out to the Creek Club in Locust Valley, N.Y., on Monday, June 20, for the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation's 29th Annual Golf Tournament. The event was held in memory of Edwin C. Scheurer, who passed away on Aug. 14, 2010. Scheurer was one of the original founders of the tournament and a devoted board member and past president of the SWCRF.
Golfers enjoyed brunch and dinner with an award reception for all the lucky winners. The event, which was hosted by Tony and Cynthia Shogren, raised more than $130,000.
The tournament, which featured a raffle, included four winners, who won items such as gift certificates, a resort getaway, Callaway clubs and a 2003 bottle of Travaglini Gattinara Vendemmia.
